2022 Recap -Favorite Moments

Happy New Year!!

I hope you are having a great start to your year so far.

I actually really cannot believe it is already 2023.  Last year absolutely flew by! It feels like it was just the new year last year, and I was buzzing with excitement for what 2022 would bring.  This time last year, I could have never even imagined what was in store.  Last year I was given opportunities I have only dreamed of.  I got to DJ with some pretty awesome clients, and got to DJ in some pretty awesome cities.  Below I have recapped a some of my favorite memories :)

Getting To DJ Zillow Unlock 2022 In Person

I have been DJing with Zillow for the last 5 years, and it has been the best time. However over the pandemic we were not able to come together for the Unlock conference. We did a virtual event in Napa, which was very cool! But Getting to be back on stage to DJ in Vegas this year, and getting to see and work with their incredible team made me realize how I missed being in person at these events. I am really looking forward to more in 2023!!

DJing For Porsche Auto Show

This event was the coolest! I mean I got to play my favorite jams, in front of the coolest and newest Porsche cars. I love events where I can truly set a vibe, not necessarily playing all the super danceable jams, but more the jams that make you feel.  It was a lot of fun! And it was also amazing working with their team.

LA Autoshow DJ

For this event I actually brought in a sound tech to help provide sound.  Joe is a friend of mine, and also a DJ going by DJ MOJOE. While I do have speakers and can provide them when needed, whenever I feel I need support on sound I get help from Joe or his team.

Joe actually created a video covering the event! Watch below! :)

Buy a Camera to Make More Mixing Videos

If you haven’t noticed already, I am all about the mixes! I absolutely love creating DJ mixes and sharing them with the world. This past year I decided to buy a good camera and lense so that I could film myself live while I was mixing.  I felt it would be cool to share easy live mixes that I can create really anywhere.

You can check out a more of them on my Youtube Channel

Cherry Bomb

I have been working with a friend of mine on a monthly party called The Taste of Cherry Bomb.  Cherry Bomb is meant to be a new queer bar and cafe for women, non binary, and gender expansive peeps.  While that is coming together, which is obviously quite an undertaking, I have been working with my friend to spread the word with this amazing event called “A Taste of Cherry Bomb”  Normally it is at a bar or club in west hollywood, and it's typically packed every single time! I get to play all of my favorite jams and get to DJ for and work with tons of my close friends.

Travel

Another thing I got to do a lot of this year, that was def a highlight, was travel and DJ in different cities. I got the opportunity to Dj in cities like Atlanta, Washington DC, Seattle, Vegas, and Houston. It is always so much fun and exciting to see new cities while working.

I hope you have some great memories from 2022 as well!

Now lets have a knock-out 2023!!!!!!!!!!!

Best of 2022! - Live Mix

Happy New Year!!!!

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to your NEW YEAR!! I can’t believe how fast 2022 went by!

I am so thankful for 2022, I got the opportunity to DJ some amazing events in LA, (and even some events outside of LA), and work with many different amazing people.

As the year came to an end, I thought back to the music that came out. It was actually quite a good year for music if you think about it. We got albums from Beyonce, Drake, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick Lamar, while Bad Bunny basically completely took over. I mean that is a line up!! And as a DJ, that is everything we dream of! It was so much fun getting to be back in person with people, getting to finally DJ amazing new music again. I loved it!

It was actually so good that I felt inspired to create a mix!

This mix is just recapping some of my favorite tracks from 2022. They are all remixes, so this mix will be a bit different than expected. My goal was to create something you could vibe to while being reminded of some of the best tracks from 2022.

I hope you enjoy! And I hope 2023 brings you health and happiness.

Late Spring/Summer Recap (Space X, Microsoft, Amazon)

I can’t believe it is already mid-august. How is this summer going by so fast!? Well, I guess time flies when you are booked, busy, and having fun!

From the start of April, I have felt like my DJ schedule has been quite back to back. I think many DJs would agree with me, but the amount of events that are hapenning in this post - pandemic world have been unprecedented. We are all quite back to back, and booked up with gigs, because people can’t and won’t stoop planning parties! I would be lying if I was to say that is not really exciting to see. At times during the lockdown, I would wonder if people would want or need a DJ any longer. Like would people just get used to a world inside, and never want to go out and listen to cool music anymore? … I really would wonder that, but thankfully ……that did not come true! It seems like actually the opposite has happened!

Time has flown by because I have been able to be a part of some amazing events this summer. And I would love to share a few of them with you in this post.

MICROSOFT

This past spring in late April, I got the opportunity to work with Microsoft and their studios based in Seattle Washington. I was a part of their Advertising Elevate Event that was broadcasted virtually through their network. I played alongside 2 hosts, on a set with cameras capturing us at different angles. Kind of like an actual broadcast you would see on T.V. It was definitely super cool! I played music in-between segments and spoke into the mic to let veiwers know what would be happening next. Check out the photos below:

It was a great time working on this one. I worked with an amazing team at Premier Events Corp, as well as the Microsofts events team. I hope to be able to work with them more! Photo of amazing team below!

SPACE X

Another awesome event I got the opportunity to DJ recently was the Space X Juneteenth Brunch. This event was held at the Space X office in Hawthorne, yes the building you might see near the LAX airport with a literal rocket out front of it. That is where I was, and guess where I DJed this event? Right in front of that rocket!

Check out the video!!!

Because this was a Juneteenth event, I focused the music on Black Artists. I played a lot of good throwbacks, like Usher, TLC, and Snoop Dog, it was a great vibe. I met many of the employees, who were so cool to get to know, and was even given a tour of the space. It was a fun event where the employees enjoyed the music and vibes out front of the building during their lunch break. It was an awesome event to be a part of!

AMAZON

Another event that would love to recap from this Summer, was the event I did with Amazon. I was given the opportunity to DJ a 3 day event with Amazon in Vegas! Each day I Djed in the morning as the conference goer’s filled the hall before the highly anticipated Keynote speaker. I pumped them up, and got them excited for what was to come that day. These types of events are always the coolest to me, cause I get to play in front of so many people. Its like I am DJing a huge club in Ibiza (which I hope to actually get to do one day), but the audience is a bit …… different …and the club is inside. But when its comes to the music, and energy I try to bring across, its Ibiza all the way! lol.

For this event, I had 3 separate sets prepared for each morning. I was given a slightly different musical direction for each day, so I had each set pre-planned. I wanted to make sure everything sounds perfect so I spent each night while I was there, planning and practicing my set. It was fun, and love it when I get the opportunity to prepare a set for events, rather than reading the crowd (which I love to do as well, but its amazing to switch it up)… Below I have some video from the event

They had me DJing in the coolest location. They called it the intergalactic DJ hub. It actually kinda felt like that being in there with all the camera’s on me from each angle. Then the veiws for the camera would be pojected onto this huge screen for everyone to see!

For this one I worked with the amazing events team at Amazon, and the wonderful and creative events company ZedInk. And I have to say, this event was definitely a highlight of the summer for me!

Well actually all of these events were a highlight for me. I feel so lucky to be able to DJ events like this and be able to work with all of the difference incredible teams that put on these events.

Looking back, even though time flew by way faster than it ever has, and I can’t believe summer is already almost over, Its cool look back and know that I have been working hard, and been able to be a part of some amazing projects.

I hope you enjoyed this recap. Because you made it this far, I have a vibey playlist to share with you! This playlist is what I was inspired my Space X set. Enjoy!

Event With Amazon Studios and Little Cinema

Hi Everyone!

I know, I know ….. it has been a while, and still quite an interesting year we are getting through.  There have been so many changes, so many adaptations we have endured, and we are still chugging along, doing what we can with what we have as this pandemic is still kind of continuing on.

Over this past year and a half, I have learned so much.  When I sit down and think about it, I learned more this past 18 months than I normally would in like 3 or 4 years.  It’s been the huge silver lining for me when it comes to all of what has happened. I hope it has been the same for any of you reading this.  I hope you have learned, adjusted and have been able to truly grow.

Because virtual events have still been a thing, I have had the opportunity to DJ some pretty cool virtual events.  One my favorites being Amazon Studios’s closing party for their #BeyondtheScreen series. This was a virtual “For Your Consideration” event for the Emmys! Yes yall, the EMMYS!!!! As you probably know, Amazon Prime has some pretty awesome shows, and this was an virtual event/virtual after party highlighting these shows. I worked with Little Cinema who provided an absolutely amazing set up for me to DJ on camera within this this very cool virtual platform they specifically created for Amazon Studios. It was essentially a legimate broadcast that Little Cinema set up for Amazon. It was cool to see.

This event kicked off with a hit, right after a premier of P!nks new documentary called “All I Know so Far”. I started the virtual set playing a jam packed mini-set of the best P!nk songs! You remember the songs like “Get the Party Started” and “Raise Your Glass” ? … Then the virtual segment continued on with celebrity interviews done by my very good friend and incredibly talented MC , Crystal Sparks. Crystal MCed phenomenally, she spoke with different celebrity guests and kept the energy going with the the virtual guests, while I the spun very specific tunes that related to each of the show/movies the #BeyondtheScreen series wanted to highlight.  They highlighted shows and movies like “Them”, “Uncle Frank”, “The Boys”, “The Expanse”, and “The Underground Railroad”. For each show/movie they highlighted, I had mixed a handful of tracks together that related to that specific show. I have to tell you, the preparation for virtual broadcast was quite time consumer, however it was very rewarding to see it all come together.

Below, I have some pretty amazing content from the event.

As you can see from the photos & videos, this event event was pretty freaking cool!

I was so thankful to Little Cinema for having me and the talented Crystal Sparks . It was an amazing opportunity for us to get to work with Amazon on such a high profile event.

On top of being a part of this awesome event, it actually landed on my birthday. Getting to celebrate my Birthday after wrapping was such the cherry on top of being a part of the event. The Little Cinema Team, and Crystal actually surprised with cake and champagne, and we celebrated!

While we are still working our way out of this pandemic, and hopefully on the very last stretch. Its very exciting for me to look back and see all of the adaptation we have made, to keep things moving. It has been exciting for me see all of the virtual or hybrid events continue to go on. Or see all of the zoom weddings, or zoom holiday parties. Or even all of the DJs able to kill it on Twitch and build completely new followings.

I was incredibly nervous when this pandemic started. I thought my job as a DJ was stable. I thought to myself, “people will never stop partying, its too much fun” …. But then it did. And things got real.

But the human race, worked through it. There was still some business for DJs, and ways for DJs to make money. While I really wish this pandemic would just not be a thing anymore, and we could get back to normal asap. I have accepted the reality we are in now, and I am excited for whats to come when this pandemic does officially become something of the past.
